Understanding Tab Link Indicators

When working with tabs in Planify Pro’s digital planner mode, each tab provides visual feedback that helps you understand whether the tab is properly linked to a page. This guide explains what the purple arrow and red X indicators mean and how to fix issues if needed.

🟣 What the Purple Arrow Means #

If a tab is successfully linked to a page, a purple arrow icon will appear beneath the tab settings.

You’ll see a label like this:

Link to page 5 | Notes

Digital Planner is linked successfully

This confirms that the tab link is working, and that the system found a matching page to jump to.

You can even click on this label, and it will take you directly to that page — a helpful way to test how your digital planner will behave once exported.

🔴 What the Red X Means #

If a tab is not linked properly, a red X icon will appear with an error message:

No page found with this tab: Notes

Digital Planner is not linked successfully

This means the system couldn’t find a valid destination for the tab link.

There are a few common reasons this might happen:

❌ 1. No Matching Page Name #

  • You used the “Detect Text” method, but there’s no page named exactly the same as your tab text.

  • Example: The tab is named “Notes”, but no page is currently named “Notes”.

❌ 2. Using “Detect Month” with a Non-Month Tab #

  • You selected the “Detect Month” option but the tab isn’t a valid month name in english (e.g., “Tasks” or “Goals”).

  • You linked the tab to a specific page number (e.g., page 20), but then added or deleted pages — so the destination page number is now wrong.

  • Double-check that the page name matches the tab text exactly (case and spacing matter!).

  • Rename the tab or the destination page if needed.

  • Avoid using fixed page numbers if your planner structure may change.

  • Use “Detect Text” or “Detect Month” for more reliable linking.

Tip: Use the Purple Arrow to Preview Navigation #

Once a purple arrow appears, click the linked page name to instantly preview what happens when a user taps that tab in a digital planner app. This is an easy way to test and validate your setup before exporting.
