How to Add a Spine to Your Cover Page in Planify Pro #
A spine helps your digital planner look more realistic and polished—especially for horizontal planners that open like a book. Here’s how to add and customize a spine on your cover page in Planify Pro.
Step 1: Open the Pattern Menu #
-
Open your planner in Planify Pro Editor
-
From the top toolbar, click Pattern
-
The Planner Background panel will appear on the right
This panel controls background patterns, headers, and spine settings.
Step 2: Switch to the Spine Tab #
At the top of the Planner Background panel, you’ll see multiple options:
-
Backgrounds
-
Advance
-
Headers
-
Spine
-
Click Spine to start editing the planner spine
Step 3: Choose a Spine Pattern #
-
Under the Patterns tab, browse available spine designs
-
Click a pattern to apply it instantly
-
The spine will appear in the center between the left and right pages
This creates a clear visual separation—like a bound planner.
Step 4: Upload Your Own Spine (Optional) #
If you want a custom design:
-
Click My Upload
-
Upload your own spine image
-
Select it to apply to the cover page
This is ideal for branded planners or themed collections.
Step 5: Adjust Spine Width #
-
Use the Width control at the top of the panel
-
Set the width in inches
-
Increase or decrease until the spine looks balanced with your layout
A slightly wider spine works well for decorative covers, while thinner spines feel more minimal.
Step 6: Apply the Spine to Both Pages #
-
Make sure Both pages are selected (Left + Right)
-
This ensures the spine aligns correctly across the full cover spread
