How to Make a DIY Weekly Planner with Wire Binding and Magnetic Cover

This DIY weekly planner tutorial shows you how to build a professional weekly planner with wire-O binding, a magnetic cover closure, and an attached notepad inside the back cover. The magnetic flap keeps the planner neatly closed in your bag, while the wire binding lets pages flip flat for comfortable writing throughout the week.

A weekly planner layout is one of the most popular formats for staying organized because it gives you a complete view of your week on one or two pages. This DIY version goes further by adding practical features you usually only find in premium store-bought planners — like the magnetic snap closure and a built-in notepad for quick notes that do not fit into your weekly schedule.

In this step-by-step guide, you will learn how to print weekly planner inserts, build custom chipboard covers with sticker paper wrapping, install magnetic closure strips, attach a small PVA-bound notepad to the inside back cover, punch all pages for wire binding, and assemble the complete planner with a wire-O closer. Customize your weekly layouts and cover designs using templates from Planify Pro.
