DIY Booklets with Signatures : A Step-by-Step Guide Want to create beautiful and professional booklets? This tutorial will guide you through the process of designing, printing, and binding your own booklets with signatures using Planify Pro. In this guide, you’ll learn how to: Design a booklet: We’ll show you how to use Planify Pro to create a booklet with your favorite patterns, colors, and layouts. Create signatures: Learn how to arrange and fold pages to create signatures for professional booklet binding. Assemble your booklet: Discover how to sew the signatures together and attach a cover to create a finished product you’ll be proud of. By the end of this tutorial, you’ll have the skills to make a variety of booklets, including planners, journals, notebooks, and more. So gather your supplies and let’s get crafting! What you’ll need to prepare before crafting your Booklets with Signatures : Paper to print out the Inserts Binding Book Kit https://youtu.be/1wBjCHEJcUk?si=96D1llIr8PmGPAld Design Your Booklets Group 2 Group 2 Open Planify Pro in a Firefox browser (in a new private mode window for the latest updates). Search “Booklet” on Planify Pro Important: Design the cover (front and back) in a separate project. Don’t include it with the internal pages. Export for Booklet Printing Go to “Save & Export.” Choose “Export All Pages.” Select paper size (A4 or US Letter). Click “Rearrange for Booklet.” Choose the number of “Sheets per Signature” (how many sheets of paper will be folded together to make one section). Click “Generate PDF.” Download the PDF. Print the Booklet Open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat Reader. Print the booklet with the following settings: “Print on both sides” (if you have a duplex printer). “Flip on the short edge.” 100% scale. If you don’t have a duplex printer, print the odd pages first, then reload the paper and print the even pages. Create the Booklet Cover Group 2 Group 2 In Planify Pro, design your front and back cover in a separate project. Export the cover as a single page PDF. Open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat Reader. Print the cover on glossy sticker paper with the following settings: 120% scale (to make the cover slightly larger than the page size). “Best” quality. Appropriate paper type (glossy or matte). Attach the printed cover to the bound signatures. Assemble the Signatures Group 2 Group 2 Count the number of pages per signature that you chose in Planify Pro. Group those pages together and fold them in half to create a signature. Repeat for all pages to create multiple signatures. Bind the Booklet Bind the Booklet: Use an awl or similar tool to punch holes along the spine of the signatures. Use a needle and thread to sew the signatures together using a Coptic stitch (or another binding method of your choice). For Coptic Stitch: Refer to online tutorials for detailed instructions (the video recommends specific YouTube tutorials) Extra Tips: Keep the cover design separate from the internal pages. Choose the number of sheets per signature based on your desired booklet thickness. Use online tutorials to learn specific binding stitches (like the Coptic stitch).
